Zoning Permits

Permits may be reviewed at the Planning & Zoning Office Monday – Friday from 8AM-4PM.  For additional information, please call the office at 425.3533.

State statute (24 V.S.A. Section 4449) requires all municipalities to post (make public) zoning permits for land development for a period of 15 days following issuance during which time an interested party may appeal the permit to an appropriate municipal panel, 24 V.S.A. Section 4465*.

In accordance with 24 V.S.A. § 4465, an interested person may appeal a decision by the administrative officer by filing a notice of appeal with the secretary of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.  This notice of appeal must be filed within 15 days of the date of the decision and a copy of the appeal shall be filed with the administrative officer.  The appeal must include the appellant’s name and address, a brief description of the property with respect to which the appeal is taken, a reference to the regulatory provisions applicable to that appeal, the relief requested, and the alleged grounds for the requested relief.  This appeal must be accompanied by an appeal fee of $250.00.
